VC Presents UoT’s Financial Challenges at Universities Finance Commission Meeting

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Turbat (UoT), Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan, passionately presented the University of Turbat's financial challenges and requirements during the Universities Finance Commission (UFC) meeting. He emphasized the urgent need for a comprehensive, practical, and sustainable solution to the financial difficulties faced by universities across Balochistan.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. Gul Hasan strongly urged the University Finance Commission to review its current formula for the distribution of funds among universities. He emphasized the need to restore the previously agreed-upon formula and called for compensation for financial losses incurred by the University of Turbat due to recent changes in the formula.
He also demanded the immediate payment of the salaries of the University of Turbat's employees for April, May, and June and operational expenses for the same period. He extended his gratitude to the provincial government for its efforts to enhance the performance of universities in Balochistan and raise educational standards.
The meeting, chaired by the Chairman of the Universities Finance Commission, Provincial Minister for Finance and Minerals, Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, and co-chaired by Provincial Minister for Education, Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani, held in Quetta on march 13, 2025. It was attended by the Secretary of Finance, Imran Khan Zarkoon, the Secretary of Higher Education, Saleh Muhammad Baloch, and vice-chancellors from all the universities in the province.
Dr. Gul Hasan requested the provincial government to take concrete steps within its available resources to support higher education institutions, emphasizing that meaningful progress and positive societal transformation can only be achieved through education and advancements in modern science and technology. He also highlighted the University of Turbat's remarkable achievements in the higher education sector and highlighted the University's Strategic Plan 2025-2030, which outlines its vision for academic excellence, research innovation, and global collaboration.

تربت، جامعہ تربت کے وائس چانسلر پروفیسرڈاکٹر گل حسن نے حالیہ یونیورسٹی فنانس کمیشن[یوایف سی] کے اجلاس میں جامعہ تربت کودرپیش چیلنجزاور مالی ضروریات کا مدلل اور مؤثر انداز میں دفاع کیا۔وائس چانسلر ڈاکٹر گل حسن نے کمیشن سے پرزور مطالبہ کیا کہ یونیورسٹی فنانس کمیشن جامعات کے درمیان فنڈز کی تقسیم کے موجودہ فارمولے پر نظرثانی کرے۔ انہوں نے سابقہ طے شدہ فارمولے کی بحالی پر زور دیتے ہوئے کہا کہ فارمولے میں حالیہ تبدیلیوں سے جامعہ تربت کو پہنچنے والے مالی نقصانات کا فوری ازالہ کیا جائے۔ مزید برآں انہوں نے جامعہ تربت کے ملازمین کی اپریل، مئی اورجون کی تنخواہوں سمیت اسی دورانیہ کی آپریشنل اخراجات کی فوری ادائیگی کا مطالبہ بھی کیا۔انہوں نے بلوچستان کے جامعات کی کارکردگی کو مزید موثر بنانے اور تعلیمی معیار کو بلند کرنے کے لیے صوبائی حکومت کی کاوشوں کو سراہتے ہوئے ان کا شکریہ اداکیا۔انہوں نے جامعہ تربت کو درپیش مالی مشکلات کاذکر کرتے ہوئے اس بات پر زور دیا کہ بلوچستان کے جامعات کو مالی بحران سے نکالنے کے لیے ایک جامع، قابل عمل اور دیرپا حل تلاش کرنا وقت کی اہم ضرورت ہے۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر گل حسن نے درخواست کی کہ صوبائی حکومت اپنے دستیاب وسائل کو بروئے کار لاتے ہوئے اعلیٰ تعلیم کے فروغ کے لیے ترجیحی بنیادوں پرٹھوس اقدامات اٹھائے۔ ان کا کہنا تھا کہ تعلیم اور جدید سائنسی علوم ہی وہ بنیادی ستون ہیں جن کے ذریعے قومیں ترقی کرتی ہیں اور معاشروں میں مثبت تبدیلیاں رونما ہوتی ہیں۔ وائس چانسلر نے جامعہ تربت کی اعلیٰ تعلیمی میدان میں کامیابیوں اور اس کے مستقبل کے اہداف کا ذکرکرتے ہوئےجامعہ تربت کی اسٹریٹجک پلان 2025-2030 پر روشنی ڈالی۔انہوں نے بتایاکہ یہ منصوبہ کس طرح تعلیمی معیار کو مزید بہتر بنانے، تحقیقی سرگرمیوں کو فروغ دینے اور علاقائی ترقی میں معاون ثابت ہوگا۔یونیورسٹی فنانس کمیشن کا یہ اجلاس کوئٹہ میں منعقد ہوا، جس کی صدارت کمیشن کے چیئرمین صوبائی وزیر خزانہ و معدنیات میر شعیب نوشیروانی نے کی، جبکہ کوچیئرمین کے فرائض صوبائی وزیر تعلیم راحیلہ حمید خان درانی نے انجام دیے۔ اجلاس میں سیکریٹری خزانہ عمران خان زرکون، سیکریٹری ہائر ایجوکیشن صالح محمد بلوچ اور بلوچستان کی تمام جامعات کے وائس چانسلرز نے شرکت کی۔
