Turbat University Organizes Session on Smart Investing and Capital Markets

The University of Turbat (UoT), in collaboration with Darson Securities Limited, organized an informative and interactive online session on October 14, 2025, at UoT’s video conference room. The session was jointly hosted by the Departments of Management Sciences, Commerce, and Economics, and attended by faculty and students of these departments. Dr. Ghulam Jan, Head, Department of Management Sciences, moderated the session.
The speakers, including Mr. Malik Dil Awayz Ahmed, CEO, Darson Securities, Dr. Mobashar Sadiq, CEO, Institute of Financial Markets of Pakistan (IFMP), Mr. Bilal Farooq Zardi, CEO, Pakistan Stockbrokers Association (PSBA), and Mr. Muhammad Azeem, Head of Research, Darson Securities, provided a comprehensive overview of capital markets, explaining the difference between investing and gambling. They also discussed the importance of responsible investment practices, investment dynamics, and financial literacy. The speakers also highlighted the key functions of brokerage firms, market regulation, and the role of financial education in promoting economic growth.
The insightful questions raised by the participants were professionally and academically responded by the speakers.
On this occasion, Dr. Adeel Ahmed, the Dean, Faculty of Business and Economics, appreciated the initiative and encouraged the departmental heads to continue arranging such industry-linked sessions to enhance students’ practical understanding of financial systems.
Dr. Abdul Majid Nasir, Controller of Examinations, Dr. Riaz Ahmed, Director, Quality Enhancement Cell, and Dr. Muhammad Tahir Badnini, Assistant Professor, also spoke on the occasion. Faculty members Mr. Chakar Faiz, Mr. Muhammad Alam, Ms. Atiya Aslam, Mr. Shahaal Syed, and Director Public Relations Ijaz Ahmed were also present on the occasion.
In his concluding remarks, Dr. Ghulam Jan expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to the team of the Pakistan Stock Exchange and Darson Securities for their valuable contributions and support in organizing informative sessions for the students and faculty members of the University of Turbat.
