Turbat University and its Affiliated Colleges Commit to Strengthen Quality Assurance

A meeting between the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) of the University of Turbat (UoT) and the Principals, and QEC focal persons of UoT-affiliated colleges was held on September 19, 2025, at Government Girls Degree College, Turbat.

The purpose of the meeting was to review the roles and responsibilities of QEC focal persons in affiliated colleges, strengthen coordination between UoT and its affiliated institutions, and streamline quality assurance processes.
UoT’s QEC Director, Dr. Riaz Ahmed, and Divisional Monitoring Officer (Makran), Higher Education Department, Government of Balochistan, Prof. Barkat Ismail, briefed the participants on effective implementation of quality assurance measures to further improve the standard of education in colleges. Dr. Riaz Ahmed emphasized the role of QEC focal persons in evaluating program effectiveness, identifying strengths and areas for improvement, and ensuring quality education to enhance student learning and achieve institutional objectives.

In his welcome address, Prof. Barkat Ismail highlighted the importance of enhancing collaboration between the university and affiliated colleges to further strengthen the AD and BS programs.
During the session, Prof. Barkat Ismail and college principals agreed to establish formal QEC offices in their respective colleges in line with HEC guidelines to ensure the quality of AD and BS programs. They also discussed the available resources and challenges, including internet connectivity and IT infrastructure, for establishing an effective QEC setup in their institutions.

UoT’s Director Public Relations and Spokesperson, Ijaz Ahmed, underscored the importance of updating information about affiliated colleges and their academic programs on the university’s official website to facilitate stakeholders and ensure transparency.
Dr. Riaz Ahmed also guided the participants on procedures related to obtaining NOCs for launching new programs, the program affiliation process with UoT, development of the QEC academic calendar, preparation and structure of self-assessment reports, formation of program teams, accreditation processes, and quality assurance-related surveys and documentations. The meeting concluded with a strong commitment to collaborative efforts aimed at promoting quality education in line with national standards and producing competent human resources for the country.
